Personal Growth

Students will:
  • develop a sense of personal worth as a special creation of God and a recipient of His love
  • foster the establishment of wholesome personal relationships through an acceptance of one another in Christian love, learning to understand and respect the views of others
  • practice good citizenship, recognizing and assuming their responsibilities to their home, their community, and their country
  • prepare for college and career opportunities

Here at C.A.G. we strive to provide the most rich and full experience to each and every student. Outside academics, we look for various ways to engage students and bring out the best in each of them. Giving them opportunities to plug in and success is a critical part of that experience.

Student Council

Picture
Each year the secondary students have an opportunity to run for a position as a class representative. The upper-class get to run for office positions of the overall student council. The responsibility of the student council is to listen to their constituents and be their voice to the administration of the school. Many school wide activities are led by the student council in addition to many secondary events.

Each year the electable positions are: Student Body President, Student Body Vice-President, Treasurer, Secretary, and Spiritual Coordinator, and Student Chaplain.

Student Media

Our student-run publications are a great place for student to learn and grow in leadership, teamwork, communication, and of course deadlines. There are three primary student-run publications with opportunities for social media, website, and broadcast outlets, too. Here are there mission statements:
  • The Sonshine yearbook is expected to preserve memories and to accurately and equally represent the students, staff, and families. The yearbook staff will be centered in Christ, to share the truth, strive for excellence, and lead through service.
  • The PawPrint news magazine is a student-produced publication with a focus on informing and entertaining the community. It strives to adhere to the standards of professional journalism to provide factual, timely, and accurate information to its readers.
  • The Cougar Collection literary magazine exists to encourage and inspire the community to express creativity through God-given talents using writing, photography, and creative arts focusing on a common theme for each publication.

Debate

Our Debate class teaches students how to debate in a reasonable and objective way. Students debate about the current social and political issues and find real life solutions through the debates.

Senior Corner

Each year the Senior class offers a myriad of snacks and hot lunches. This provides and excellent opportunity to learn responsibility and business sense in a controlled and safe environment. Near the end of the school year the responsibility is "handed over" to the Junior class for the follow year.
