Teacher Pre-Application

Thank you for your interest in serving with Christian Academy of Guatemala. Our school is a multicultural environment using U.S. Curriculum with classes taught in English since 1974. If you qualify, we look forward to reviewing your application. The school year is from August to May.

Please read the "Requirements" below first. If you qualify to apply, you are invited to complete and submit the Teacher Opportunity form to learn more about our opportunities to serve with us.

Requirements:

  • A personal relationship with Jesus Christ; Evangelical Christian testimony with active church experience
  • Agree wholeheartedly with our school’s Statement of Faith
  • Called by God to serve in a developing nation setting
  • Bachelor's degree or higher from a DOE or CHEA accredited university
  • Resume of Experience and Skills
  • Four qualified references and background screening
  • Must be fluent in both written and spoken English
  • Commit to Full-time, Mon-Fri, August to May

Qualifications:

  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational abilities
  • Outstanding communication skills both written and oral
  • Strong ability to multitask and lead a classroom
  • Work well in a team environment
  • Ability to adapt and be flexible
  • A state teaching certificate/license and 2 years of experience are desired, but not required
  • Called by God to serve in an educational setting as a missionary in a developing country
  • Additional Qualifications will be defined for each position

    Documentation of Completion will be Required.

    Even with a stipend provided for my service at CAG, I am expected to raise financial support, through a mission organization or my home church:
    A 10-month stipend is offered to our teachers. There is no "salary" or "employment". Stipends depend on degrees/certificates and range from $450-$650.

    To help expedite the interview process, please submit a 30-60 second video of you explaining why you desire to teach at CAG:
